Commonwealth Perinatal Services is a group of Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians committed to caring for women with high risk pregnancies. For more than 20 years, our group has provided care to women in the greater Richmond metropolitan area and beyond. We look forward to having an opportunity to work with you and your Obstetrician during your pregnancy.
If you are at risk for certain pregnancy complications, your obstetrical provider will request a consultation with one of our Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians. Consultation may be requested prior to or during pregnancy. Advanced Ultrasound imaging and prenatal testing will be discussed and utilized in your pregnancy to allow for the optimal outcome.
Potential at-risk pregnancies include:
- Recurrent pregnancy loss
- Genetic diseases
- Advanced maternal age
- Multi-fetal pregnancies including twins, triplets and beyond
- Suspected fetal birth defects
- History of or risk of preterm birth
- Maternal medical conditions such as:
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Diabetes (both pre-existing and gestational)
- Systemic lupus
